After using my ReMarkable 2 for hours everyday for a year (review here), when ReMarkable announced their new advanced writing tablet, the Paper Pro, I bought it immediately. After a week of use, I have some thoughts! It’s definitely the nicest writing tablet available, no doubt. But for the cost, you would expect it to be perfect and frankly, it isn’t.

As a fan of this company and an avid user, I want to breakdown my experience with the Remarkable Paper Pro — what I love, what I don’t, and why I’m keeping it. I’ll recap at the end with a few simple reasons to buy and reasons not to buy. I wish I could just give you a flat answer but as you’ll see, it’s complicated.

Outdoors, the colors look pretty good!

What I love about the Remarkable Paper Pro

The Size: I never thought the Remarkable 2 was too small, but the larger size of the Paper Pro is actually game changing. The whole device is about the size of a standard 8.5x11 letterhead and the screen is slightly smaller — so I find that a letter PDF displays at almost full size. It makes text so much more readable. Notebooks can display so much more content and I find I’m not scrolling as often.
